The refreshing sound of water, birds chirping and the tinkling of ice in a glass of cold ice tea. I love sitting out by the pool in the shade.

Mixed feelings about Streetlight. On the one hand, it's mostly Catch 22. On the other hand, I'm sad that Catch 22 isn't a thing anymore, and also Catch 22 was better .

I'm glad someone else is familiar with the Ska

Lol, SOAD is definitely an acquired taste for music.

When people say that it usually means that said thing is bad. Other examples of this are coffee (which tastes terrible) and beer (which also tastes terrible). Just sayin' .

I wasn't all that impressed by this. I was impressed by the fact that the song was so successfully converted to metal, but this guy didn't play all that impressive a guitar. It was a lot of power chords and simple moves. I think you might like this though, if you don't already know of it:

TB the reason coffee and beer taste bad is because you have had bad coffee and beer. I didn't have good coffee until I was 23 and I just recently had some of my first good beers.

Edit: same goes with steak, used to hate steak

    2nd Edit:
watched the video, yeah the playing was pretty simple but there wasn't much in the way of power chords, some finger tapping maybe but not power chords. Simple though does not mean bad. If he had added more embellishment to his playing it would probably have ruined the song.

I use to be the same way until I started trying out different beers.

I meant more that he can convert almost any song into metal and have it sound good.

For some reason I've never been as attracted to this kind of electronica sound. Satriani is as far into that as I can go comfortably, and I think it's ok because of the classical acoustic sounds he often leaves in the background. This is good around 1:18 to 1:25 for example, but then by 1:32 the way the guitar is asked to sound is odd. For some reason the sequence around 3:40 sounds better again, then I dislike it again in the future . I'll listen to it a few more times. But in any case, as guitar geniuses go, I'll stick to my Rodrigo Y Gabriela for that beautiful acoustic sound.

Unrelated, but this song is SO me right now.

mentioning Bob Marley & The Wailers. I didn't know that Jimmy Cliff was still alive and touring. Got some free tickets from school to go to his show when it passes through town.

I feel like you commit sacrilege if you don't run the song through into Any Colour You Like, then there's no good place to stop it until the end. So like... you might as well be listening to the whole album!

There are so many great songs though. Why play the same thing over and over again when there are so many good choices?

    In any case,
    Boat of Car, TMBG

I think Us and Them woukd be a better song to end it on than Eclipse.

I see we have common interests in earlier periods of music though Dvorak is more of a Romanticist composer and I don't really listen to that most of the time. I'm more into the lines of some Renaissance music, Baroque, and early Classical. Don't like operas though, I hate 'em, just like the instrumental stuff.

If you put the guitar solo on loop, how long would it take before anyone noticed?
