We have just heard that we can expect thew newest version of Travian to be released on our servers sometime in March 2009. Please find below the (very) general features list that Travian has released so far. More details should be available closer to launch hopefully. =)

    - additional Ressource field combination

    - new icons/buttons

    - more comfortable Map
    First Information Update (17-Jan-09):

    The new buildings in T3.5

    Dear players,

As promised in the announcement about T3.5, we want to inform you about upcoming features occasionally until launch day.

We will start with the new buildings. There will be three new buildings. The first being the Brewery (which probably all of you have seen in the FAQ at some point). The next one is the Trapper. This one by itself is also nothing new, however, it will be improved and upgraded. The last building in this line is the Horse watering Place.

This building is also the one we want to give you a few more details about.

    The Horse watering Place

What does the Horse watering Place do?
The Horse watering Place decreases the training time of cavalry and decreases the upkeep of these troops as well.

Characteristics of the Horse watering Place
    • It can be constructed by Romans only
    • Per level the training time of cavalry is decreased by 1%
    • It reduces the upkeep of all Roman cavalry that are located in the village the Horse watering Place has been built in
    • Starting with level 10: Equites Legati upkeep is reduced by 1 unit
    • Starting with level 15: Equites Imperatoris upkeep is reduced by 1 unit
    • Starting with level 20: Equites Caesaris upkeep is reduced by 1 unit
    • Maximum level is 20

Prerequisites for the Horse watering Place
    • Stable level 20
    • Rally Point level 10
    • Tribe: Romans
    Second Information Update (20-Jan-09):

    New combinations for resource tiles

6 new combinations for resource tiles:
    • 3-4-4-7
    • 3-5-4-6
    • 4-3-4-7
    • 4-3-5-6
    • 4-4-3-7
    • 5-4-3-6
    Third Information Update (27-Jan-09):
    New Artifacts and Map Interface
The course of the game will itself be made more interesting with the release of Travian 3.5. In order to achieve this a new set of artifacts will be introduced in the mid game phase. These artifacts have differerent advantages and also different areas of effect (e.g. the whole account or one village only).

The following artifacts will be available in the mid game phase:
    • More durable buildings
    • Faster troops
    • Scouting artifact
    • Reduced upkeep for troops
    • Display of all incoming troop types for foreign armies
    • Training time of troops decreased
    • Construction plan for great warehouse and great granary
    • Larger cranny

These artifacts are designed to be a special tactical and strategical challenge for all players.

In addition to this we will improve the gaming interface in T3.5 with a better map. For example, villages you have sent troops to will be given a special troop movement indicator, so you can actually see on the map where you troops are headed for. Furthermore the arrow keys of your keyboard will be usable for faster scrolling of the map.

    Artifacts

    • Larger cranny

    Resource tiles
The new resource tile distribution will be as follows:

    Graphics
Some troop icons and navigation buttons have been adapted and some changes in the HTML and CSS code have been done. Sadly, this means that the old graphic packs are no longer Travian 3.5 compatible. The graphic pack function will be disabled for a while after release. As soon as we know that there will be no further changes concerning HTML and CSS, this function will be reactivated. Due to the new HTML and CSS structure more and
greater changes are possible to the layout using graphic packs.

    Improved map
The following improvements will be done to the Travian map:
    • Display of the large map either in a Div-Layer or a popup. Behavior can be changed in the player’s game settings.
The popup does not close after clicking a tile anymore. This setting can be changed in the preferences.
    • Display of confederacies and NAPs without Plus
    • New image for enemies (village border)
    • Resource distribution info on mouseover (empty tiles only)
    • Troop movement symbol for villages that one attacks, reinforces or from which troops are coming back (Plus)
    • The arrow keys on the keyboard can be used to move around the map

    Statistics and Medals
The new statistics and medals will be a further incentive to compare your achievements to other players and alliances.
The new statistics and medals will be made available later by us.

The following statistics and medals are planned:
    • Enhanced ranking statistics for alliances
    • Inhabitants (Sum of all inhabitants of all members)
    • Off (Sum of all Off-Points of all members)
    • Def (Sum of all Def-Points of all members)
    • Medals for alliances
    • Attacker of the week
    • Defender of the week
    • Robber of the week
    • Climber of the week (by inhabitants, not rank)
Other than the ranking statistics, the medals are rewarded using the points that members actually received while they were member of a particular alliance.

Additionally we would like to tell you that the T3.5. test phase will start on the 4th of February on Travian.org. Afterwards the listed components will be introduced to the running DE-Worlds. When all tests are successful an update (except for resource tiles) for all running game worlds that have been started in 2009 is planned. All game worlds starting afterwards will start with all features including the new resource tiles.

    Best regards,
    Your Travian Team

    Default Artifacts

    Hi all,

Information has now been released regarding the new artifacts! Please keep in mind that this is an initial translation, so if you have any questions feel free to ask and we will try to get clarifications as things do tend to get lost in the translation from German to English. Here you go:

    Story

The lore of a breathtaking discovery in the old ruins is spreading like
wildfire. Scholars and archaeologists have been working unwarily at the
excavation sites for decades, digging for what seems like an extinct
civilization. If the tales are true, supremely powerful treasures have
been discovered there. Rumors have it there are tablets and strange
artifacts of the legendary and nebulous Natars, the dreaded people
legends say enslaved all the other peoples of Travian in ancient times.
Nonetheless, scholars say these artifacts could only be used to cause good.

Meanwhile, the excavation sites have become silent. Rumors suggest the
places are crawling with dark creatures. Some even say the Natars
themselves could be on the loose, guarding over the old, unearthed
    artifacts.

Some counselors advise it is time to send out your heroes and their
armies to the ruins swiftly, lest wrong hands get a hold of the mighty
artifacts. You just might be lucky and find an artifact that will make
you as powerful as the Natars themselves once were.
    Facts

    Requirements:

To get an artifact you need a Hero and an empty Treasure Chamber. The Treasure Chamber can now be built up to level 20. It can be built in Capital Village but not in an WW Village.

As soon as the Treasure Chamber holding an artifact is completely destroyed, it can be taken by an
attacking (a normal attack, NOT a raid) Hero. After you have the artifact it needs 24 hours until its powers will begin working for you.

The details and facts regarding the updated Treasure Chamber are scheduled to be released next week.

    Figures/Scope

For each category, there are 4 artifacts whose powers work for the whole account and 6 artifacts
whose powers work only in the village they are stored.

Additionally there is one Unique artifact in each category (except with the Granary/Warehouse
    artifacts).

    Exceptions:

“More steady buildings” = it's power will always work for the whole account, only the power bonus is different.

“Artifact of the fool” = there are 10 different versions of it that will change in scope every 24 hours (see description below for more details).

    Location/allocation:

The artifacts will be spread out evenly around the map. The 7 uniques will be placed near 0/0.

    Point of introduction:

All artifacts will be brought into the game at the same time. This will be around 120-180 days
after the start of the server.

    Artifact sets:

    More steady Buildings
All buildings are 2 or 3 times stronger ( 5 times for the unique artifact). This means that you will need
more catapults to damage buildings protected by this artifact's powers.

    Faster Troops
Troops are 1.5 or 2 times faster (3 times for the unique artifact)

    Less wheat consumption
All troops in the artifact's range use 25% less wheat with the account-wide artifact, 50% less wheat with the village artifact, and 50% less wheat for the whole account with the unique artifact.

    Faster troop building
Troops are built 25% faster with the account-wide artifact, 50% faster with the village artifact, and 50% faster for the whole account with the unique artifact.

Building plan for Great Warehouse and Great Granary
With that building plan you are able to build the Great Granary or Great Warehouse in that Village or
the whole account depending on the artifact. As long as you posses that artifact you are able
to build and enlarge those buildings.

    Larger Cranny and random-aim
Crannies hold 100 times more resources with the account-wide artifact, 200 times more resources with the village artifact, and 500 times more for the unique artifact. Catapults can only shoot random on villages within this artifacts power. Exceptions are the WW and Treasure Chamber when you have the unique artifact only.

    Artifact of the Fool
Every 24 hours it gets a random effect, bonus, or penalty (all are possible). They change effect AND
scope every 24 hours. The unique artifact only takes bonus effects.

Better Scouts + show incomming troops
All Scouts are 3 times stronger with the account-wide artifact, 5 times stronger with the village artifact, and 10 times stronger for the whole account with the unique artifact. In addition with all versions of this artifact you can see the incoming TYPE of troops but not how many there are.
