I know there are different strategies - I've never played on speed, so I can't really say how things would work. The extra production and the speed boost you get, it'll make a big difference with how things go. I'm not saying it isn't possible to do things another way, its all relative - but I know this works.

Besides, if you're able to wipe a Teuton early game, he's not the skill level you should be worried about. When it comes down to it, they build troops faster, cheaper, and stronger. If you're both raiding the same area, he'll beat you every time. Catching him sleeping kind of depends on luck.

If you can wiping the best Teutons early in game isn't too difficult. I'm sure I could wipe Jono at the start of a speed server if we spawned right next to each other. Maces die really easy on defense remember, and Teutons make great farms. Remember also that I don't need to catch the whole army at base to waste resources of the Teuton, I can kill that one maceman that just spawned out of the barracks. Sucks for him, now I'm 90 wood ahead of him plus whatever I just stole.

Still, when it comes right down to a new guide for a normal server Roman, this one is 5 stars.

The problem is the BP, and not knowing what they've got at home. If you lose a leg when you've only got 2 at the start you're kind of screwed. But you're right, and I've done it to Teutons that were just starting to grow. If they're right next to you its easier, if they're on the edge of your 7x7 its more difficult, depending on their activity level.

I don't want to scare anyone away from attacking Teutons unless you have EI's. If you've got some troops to spare and can handle losing them, or wasting a trip. Do it, do it repeatedly. But its hit or miss. Your environment always dictates what is going to work for you, since I can't see everyone's map and advise them directly, this is what I could figure out.

Yeah 2 on 1 you're good, but without a scout ... how many have they got? 2 on 5, you're both screwed, and he can rebuild faster. You hit nothing, and he follows you home, and you're the only one screwed. If he's got a rat ... you're screwed. All situational.

I'm agreeing with you it works, its a good idea. But its chancy.

Should i try going romans again? I've become a farm every single time i try to be a roman but i've never been farmed when i'm a teut or gual.

Do what works ... thats really the key. Its not easy to play Romans, as much as the Dev's seem to think they're great for beginners. Guides are just Guidelines anyway, if it doesn't work for you, don't stress yourself to make it work.

wow that is long. I think i will pass. the best roman guide there is, would say "play as a teuton" because teutons are better than any other race.
