    Default "Bettersurf"?

Anyone else seen this browser extension appear out of nowhere? I had Firefox telling me it was asking permission to install itself a little bit ago, and a discussion going on at StackExchange suggests that it's some new adware or malware, and that it's possibly being spread through YouTube and/or other streaming video sites.

I'd also gotten a Windows update earlier today; I really hope that it wasn't this thing spoofing a Windows update to embed its crap on my system.

Well... I know nothing about that.

Well, it seems to be an easy fix so far. I deleted the stuff it installed in Program Files, then to be safe, I also deleted the installer from Windows' temp files, and the small number of registry entries it made. So far, I haven't seen anything further from it.

I'm thinking that the biggest issue is going to be avoiding reinfection.

Speaking of malicious code, has anyone heard about BadBIOS. This one blows my mind.

    ZOMG, I want it!

I'll keep it in an isolated, encryted partition in a sandbox environment on an old computer and name it Tom.
