it'll definately kill something. Those rats, bats and such are nasty vermin.
But I have heard you do get resources from the raid.

You will get resources, as well as exp if you have your hero with you. Also, later on in order annex them you have to clear it first so you'll have to do it either way.

Yes, the animals, bugs, whatever will come back. Usually in greater numbers, I've found.

Use your combat simulator to see how many of your troops you WILL LOSE when you attack those mean and nasty mouses. I was surprised the first time i attacked those cute furry things, wiped me out they did.
After a few combat simulator runs using the figures near me...
